What We Are About -- We are all about personally and relationally knowing God better as He has revealed Himself in all the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation and most ultimately and perfectly in the person of Jesus the Christ who has inaugurated the kingdom of God in His life, death, resurrection and the sending of His Spirit and who is Himself the fulfillment and epitome of all that God has promised. We rely on the necessary help of the Holy Spirit and seek to live in such a way that God would be glorified by our words and deeds as we seek to help others to know Him as He is.

What Inspired Our Name

Here are some of the Scriptures behind our name.

"Therefore thus says the Lord God, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed." Isaiah 28:16

"And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 2:4-5

"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit." Ephesians 2:19-22

Our hope is that our congregation would be a harbor for many who would find here a place to be equipped and sent out, prepared and provisioned to accomplish God's purposes.

What we are up to right now?  As we begin 2022 we have two main points of focus:

  1. Hebrews -- We are carefully considering the New Testament letter to the Hebrews. Our Sunday worship time in the word will seek to understand and apply truth discovered in this rich letter. You are encouraged both to read and study the book of Hebrews on your own with the help of the Holy Spirit, and to make use of the helpful sermon recordings and notes prepared by Pastor Kit CulverSoverign Grace Community Church in Denver Colorado.
  2. Devotions 2022+ -- Everyone is invited to participate in a daily devotional schedule seeking to understand the grand storyline of the Bible and each book's contribution to that whole story. During our Sunday worship time together we will encourage each other with insights gleaned from our personal devotional reading and time with God.

Join us and join in our interactive Sunday morning discussions seeking to build each other up in Christ. How? Email info@stoneharborchurch.org and we'll make sure you are invited to our online gatherings.
